Wife Expresses Dismay Over Husband’s Disapproval of Her Working

Stephanie St. Croix, a Facebook user uploaded a screenshot of a wife’s post about her husband on the Facebook group “Homepaslupa Buddies 4.0.” The post garnered various reactions from the online community.
The unidentified woman explained that her husband doesn’t want her to work, urging her to focus solely on their child and their home.
But things got hurtful when her husband made a mean comment while she was getting their child ready. He said their child should study hard so they don’t end up like the mom, who just cleans the floor.
When she tried talking to him about wanting to work, he ignored her or changed the subject. It made her feel worthless, especially because she had a degree while he only finished high school.
The wife becomes upset because she’s been sacrificing her dreams to take care of their family, but he doesn’t seem to appreciate it. She advised her fellow women to have their own money so they don’t end up in her situation.

“Ayaw ng husband ko magtrabaho ako. Nanawa na lang ako kakasabi na gusto ko na magtrabaho pero ayaw niya kasi siya na raw ang bahala sa lahat, ang isipin ko na lang daw ay ‘yung anak namin at ang bahay. But I feel hurt earlier while binibihisan ko ang anak ko. Degree holder ako tapos siya high school graduate pero lagi niya ako minamaliit porket siya ang kumikita ng pera. Siya rin naman namimilit na sa bahay lang ako. Hay ang sarap iwan ng ganitong klaseng asawa. I’m literally sobbing while typing this.
