In Negros Occidental, a Man Collecting a Debt of P100 Was Stabbed
NEGROS OCCIDENTAL – A man who was collecting a debt of P100 was stabbed in the city of Talisay by the father who owed him money.
Paying off debts is crucial for personal integrity and financial responsibility. When individuals borrow money or receive goods or services on credit, they make a promise to repay the lender or creditor. Fulfilling this promise is not only about trust but also a legal requirement in many cases. Failing to repay debts can have legal consequences, damage one’s reputation, and limit future financial opportunities.
It also goes against the basic principles of fairness and mutual respect in financial dealings, potentially harming relationships and trust. By promptly settling debts, individuals not only show they are financially responsible but also avoid the accumulation of interest and fees that can lead to a cycle of debt. Ultimately, honoring financial commitments helps maintain relationships, build trust, and secure a better financial future for everyone involved.
In another incident, a man sustained a shoulder injury after being stabbed by the father of the person from whom he was collecting a debt of P100 in Talisay City, Negros Occidental. The victim, identified as 51-year-old “Ramel,” resides in Barangay Zone 15 in the said city.
According to police reports, the victim went to the man who owed him P100 to collect the debt. The suspect, allegedly named “Nonoy,” and the father of the debtor, became angry because his son supposedly told him that he had already paid his debt.
However, Ramel denied this, leading to an argument between him and Nonoy which resulted in the stabbing of the victim. The suspect surrendered to the police but was later released after reaching an agreement with the victim to avoid filing charges.
