Two personal assistants of Quiboloy surrendered to the NBI
PASTOR APOLLO QUIBOLOY – Two personal assistants of the religious leader and televangelist surrendered to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Thursday morning.
Jackielyn Roy and Ingrid Canada were named in a warrant of arrest issued by a court for alleged child abuse. They underwent booking procedures and were to be handed over to the court. The NBI did not disclose the location of their surrender, but they surrendered together.
Apart from Roy and Canada, Quiboloy, Cresente Canada, Paulene Canada, and Sylvia Cemañes also face charges for purportedly violating the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act. In related news, NBI agents arrested Cresente Canada on Wednesday, while Paulene Canada and Sylvia Cemañes voluntarily surrendered and have since posted bail.
Furthermore, NBI agents, along with members of the Police Regional Office-Davao (PRO-11), visited the Kingdom of Jesus Christ compound in Davao City, where KOJC administrator Norie Cardona received a copy of the warrant on behalf of Quiboloy and the other respondents.
As of today, the televangelist and religious leader was nowhere to be found by the authorities. He was not at the Kingdom of Jesus Christ compound in Davao City, at the group’s prayer mountain in Barangay Tamayong, nor at his resort in Samal Island.
Meanwhile, Apollo Carreon Quiboloy, commonly known as Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, is a religious leader and the founder of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ, The Name Above Every Name, Inc. (KJC), a religious organization headquartered in Davao City, Philippines. He claims to be the “Appointed Son of God” and teaches his followers about salvation, divine healing, and the prosperity gospel.
Quiboloy gained prominence for his charismatic preaching style and large following, both in the Philippines and internationally. His organization has faced controversies and legal issues over the years, including allegations of misconduct and financial irregularities, which Quiboloy and his followers vehemently deny.
