The appreciation post of Anthony Taberna for First Lady Liza Marcos
ANTHONY TABERNA – The radio host also known as Katunying, shared an appreciation post for First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos despite the criticism following their exclusive interview.
In a Facebook post, Taberna narrated how they managed to invite the First Lady for an interview. According to the journalist, he requested to interview Araneta-Marcos in 2022, and although they had scheduled several times, it didn’t push through due to her busy schedule.
He said he didn’t expect to receive another schedule last month. But on April 12, after two years, the interview finally took place.
“To her credit, she did not even ask for questions in advance. Kaya medyo malakas ang loob ko na magtanong lang [nang] magtanong and I wouldn’t mind if she won’t answer everything. But to my surprise, she practically responded to most if not all questions I asked. And the rest is history” he shared.
Taberna thanked the First Lady for trusting him to conduct the interview. “Salamat muli kay First Lady LAM for trusting me. I and my team felt that you were comfortable talking to me. [‘Yun] naman ang aming style. We always hope to ask even the most difficult questions without badgering and antagonizing our guests,” he added.
He continued: “Hindi naman lahat ay matutuwa sa inyong sagot at mga sinabi, Madame First Lady ngunit marami ang positibo naman ang komento. Ganun talaga. Even I get a big share of bashings and I don’t mind them as I consider it part of ‘occupational hazard’.”
Katunying also thanked those involved in the exclusive interview. It’s worth noting that the exclusive interview with Araneta-Marcos aired on Taberna’s Facebook page last Friday, April 20, where she addressed the issues thrown at her and her husband, President Bongbong Marcos, Jr.
