Here’s Rabiya Mateo Reaction To Stories About Her Boyfriend Jeric Gonzales
RABIYA MATEO – Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo talks about the stories surrounding her boyfriend Jeric Gonzales.
Rabiya Occeña Mateo, also known as Rabiya Mateo, was born on November 14, 1996. She is a Filipino model and the titleholder of Miss Universe Philippines 2020.
She represented the Philippines in the Miss Universe 2020 held at Hollywood Casinos Florida in the United States. She is now dating Kapuso star Jeric Gonzales.
During a Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, Rabiya Mateo acknowledged being influenced by the stories and opinions circulating about her boyfriend, actor Jeric Gonzales. In the interview hosted by Boy Abunda, Rabiya willingly joined the discussion alongside her Makiling co-star and fellow Sparkle 10 member, Elle Villanueva.
Beyond their professional lives, the conversation delved into their romantic relationships. Rabiya shared the challenges she faced early in her relationship with Jeric due to public opinions about the actor.
She expressed, “First time kong mag-date ng celebrity and minsan kapag celebrity din ‘yung dine-date mo ang daming opinyon, ang daming sinasabi about him and at first, I was shaken about it.
She expressed, “It’s my first time dating a celebrity, and sometimes when you’re dating a celebrity, there are a lot of opinions, a lot of things said about him, and at first, I was shaken about it.”
Despite the numerous rumors, Rabiya chose to trust her boyfriend, emphasizing, “Kasi nakita ko kung gaano siya kaseryoso sa akin Tito Boy at pinaramdam niya ‘yun sa’kin.”
Rabiya also mentioned, “I’m sure marami rin sinasabi ang mga tao about me kay Jeric.”
Rabiya learned to appreciate Jeric’s efforts in strengthening their relationship, stating, “Ako, aside from communication, siguro Tito Boy, kailangan mo rin… ako bilang babae I need to be appreciative ng efforts, kasi minsan ‘yung mga lalaki marami na silang ginagawang effort, hindi lang natin napapakita na na-a-appreciate natin sila.”
Rabiya confirmed her relationship with Jeric in March 2022. Several months later, rumors circulated about their breakup following Rabiya’s deletion of their Instagram pictures. However, Rabiya clarified in a June 2023 interview that their breakup lasted only a week and was swiftly resolved. At present, the Kapuso couple’s relationship remains strong, with Rabiya celebrating her birthday alongside Jeric in Hong Kong and Macau in November 2023.
