Gen Z Earns P5,000 Daily from Selling Quail Eggs

Nikkie Espiritu, Gen Z Earns as Much as P5,000 Daily From Her Quail Egg Business

QUAIL EGG BUSINESS – A 24-year-old Gen Z named Nikkie Espiritu reportedly earns P5,000 per day from selling quail eggs.

The young lady was running a business of breeding and selling quail eggs. It was just a backyard quail farm but the returns are good for them as startup entrepreneurs in the quail business. She has long been a hustler.

“Ito pong business na ito is backyard pugo lang din siya. Pero once natutukan mo na siya, maganda naman po yung returns niya sa amin din pong mga startup, entrepreneur sa pugo business,” said Espiritu.

After saving up P200,000 for capital, Espiritu started her quail business. Aside from this, she also sells summer lock bags and became an influencer on TikTok in 2020.

Currently, there are around 3,000 quails in cages made of net. Espiritu feeds her pets with feeds. She added that feeding the quails at the right time is important for them to be healthy and produce good eggs.

Espiritu takes care of Japanese Taiwan quails, which are part of the family of ground-living birds like chickens. They can lay almost 300 eggs per year. Their waste can also be utilized as fertilizer for the soil, which helps the environment.

Espiritu collects around 2,700 quail eggs every day. Each box contains 100 eggs, which she sells for P165 in the market. This earns her at least P5,000 every day. Quails can lay eggs every day for a year. However, their egg-laying gradually decreases after a year.

However, it’s still profitable because quail meat can still be sold.

“Huwag matakot sumubok kasi ‘yung pagsubok na yan, ayan pala ‘yung magiging stepping stone niyo sa pag-asenso niyo sa buhay niyo,” she added.
