REWIND – The coffin used by Kapuso star Dingdong Dantes in the blockbuster movie was sold to Jayson Luzadas, also known as Boss Toyo.
“Rewind” is a 2023 Philippine science fiction romantic drama film directed by Mae Cruz-Alviar, starring real-life couple Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera. The story follows John, who is given the chance to go back in time by a day to save his relationship with his wife, Mary.
The film, produced by Star Cinema in association with Agosto Dos Media and APT Entertainment, was released on December 25, 2023, as part of the 49th Metro Manila Film Festival. It received positive critical reception and became the highest-grossing Philippine film of all time, grossing over ₱902 million ($16 million) worldwide.
The plot delves into themes of love, forgiveness, and sacrifice as John navigates through different timelines to mend his fractured relationship with Mary. The performances of the cast, particularly Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera, received acclaim, with Pepe Herrera’s portrayal of Lods also praised.
Despite some thematic and theological questions raised by critics, the film’s emotional depth and compelling storytelling resonated with audiences, earning it several accolades, including Drama Film of the Year at the Platinum Stallion Media Awards.
Following the success of ‘Rewind,’ the coffin used by Dingdong Dantes in the said movie was sold to Boss Toyo. The seller, Pasky Ilagan, brought the said coffin to Boss Toyo. It was borrowed from their funeral home.
Boss Toyo was also shown some information about the coffin to prove its legitimacy. Initially, it was desired to be sold for one million, but Boss Toyo quickly responded and offered P200,000. After discussing the price of the coffin, Ilagan agreed to sell it to Boss Toyo for P250,000. Watch the video below:
