Diego Loyzaga Wants To Follow Dad Cesar Montano’s Footsteps Before
DIEGO LOYZAGA – Actor Diego Loyzaga disclosed in an interview that he wanted to be like his father Cesar Montano before.
Born on May 21, 1995, in San Juan City, Metro Manila, Philippines, Diego Loyzaga is a Filipino actor and model, the child of renowned actors Cesar Montano and Teresa Loyzaga. Diego has garnered recognition for his acting prowess, making appearances in various Philippine TV shows and films.
He has taken on notable roles in tv series such as “Growing Up,” “Pangako Sa ‘Yo,” and “Los Bastardos.”
Diego Loyzaga became emotional while discussing his relationship with his father, Cesar Montano, on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda. Now a father himself, Diego shared his experiences in a recent episode of the talk show, marking his return to TV interviews after many years.
During the interview, Boy Abunda asked about Diego’s perspective on being the child of a famous action star.
“Gaano kahirap ‘yung anak ka ni Cesar? Alam mo ‘yun? You take on a role, expectations are high. How do you survive that?” Abunda asked.
The hunk actor answered, “I think, Tito Boy, for the earlier part of my career, I was really trying to you know? Fill those shoes.”
Diego added, “I was trying talaga to be more like him. Then, I think, recently, parang kumalas na rin ako e. I’m just trying to be Diego. I know, they’re very large shoes to fill, kaya hindi ko na pipilitin ang sarili ko na maging isang Cesar Montano. Gusto ko na lang maging isang Diego Loyzaga.
“Of course, I wanna achieve ‘yung mga na-achieve niya sa career niya, but one day at a time.”
After this, Boy Abunda asked again, “Sinasabihan ka ba niya ng ‘Good job’ or wala talaga or sinasabihan ka niya ng, ‘I like the way you attack that.’ May mga pagkakataon na ganun?”
The handsome actor revealed that he really cried when his dad praised him for their confrontation scene in a project. Diego said, “Ang una namin kasing naging proyekto na magkasama kami, ‘yung scene namin talaga is magkaaway, parang in a way medyo magkaaway, nagsusumbatan kami. So, I treated it as if I were just talking to my dad, and that was the first time na sinabihan niya ako na, ‘I like that.’ Hindi ako iyakin na tao, pero naiyak ako dun.”
“Everyone knows naman my story, for the people who don’t, I didn’t grow up naman with my dad. Not blaming him, not throwing shade on my father. It’s just that those are the circumstances, and to get affirmation from your dad, ang sarap sa pakiramdam.”
Currently, Diego noted that he has a positive relationship with Cesar. In fact, they frequently discuss his daughter, Hailey.
