Female Content Creator Shares Painful Experience of Growing Up in Poverty
A lady content creator shares her experience of growing up poor “akala ko mayayaman lang ang nakakapasok.”
The Facebook account, Mommy Van shared her story of growing up in poverty, believing that only wealthy people could dine at fast-food chains. Her post quickly went viral and garnered various reactions online.
Mommy Van opened a conversation with her husband and eldest child. The woman shared that she grew up in poverty and never experienced dining out at restaurants or fast-food chains. She used to think that only rich kids could eat at fast-food chains.
Recounting her childhood experiences, Mommy Van became emotional as she remembered the hardships her family endured. She recalled moments like going to the supermarket, where they had to carefully budget their money.
They checked prices and often refrained from buying items that seemed too expensive. The content creator expressed gratitude to the Lord for providing them with opportunities to provide for their children and offer them experiences they themselves never had.

“Akala ko nung bata ako mayayaman lang ang nakakapasok sa mga fast food chain.”
‘Yan ang nasabi ko kanina habang nag-uusap kami ng asawa ko at panganay naming anak.
Lumaki kasi ako sa hirap kaya hindi ko nakamulatan ang kumain sa mga restaurants o fast food chain.
Nakaka-emotional lang kapag naaalala ko kung gaano kami dumaan sa hirap.
Pumunta rin kami kanina sa Supermarket at naalala ko na, dati saktuhan lang ang dala naming pera kapag mamimili. Tipong tinitingnan ng mabuti ang presyo at kapag medyo mahal, hindi na namin binibili.
Nakakaiyak and at the same time nakakatuwa rin na kahit papaano ay naipaparanas na namin sa mga anak namin ang mga bagay na hindi namin naranasan dati.
