WWE Wrestler to Trans Woman Influencer: Meet Gabbi Tuft/Tyler Reks

Former wrestler now a trans woman influencer

WRESTLER TO INFLUENCER – Gabbi Tuft, formerly known as Tyler Reks in the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), has undergone a remarkable transformation from a professional American wrestler to a proud transgender woman.

In 2021, amidst the pandemic, she bravely came out, becoming the first-ever WWE wrestler to openly embrace a transgender identity. Now, as part of the LGBTQIA community, Gabbi has left behind her wrestling career to become a social media influencer, amassing a significant following of one million on various platforms.

Originally from Sonoma County, Gabbi grew up playing with dolls and secretly wearing her mother’s clothes. However, societal pressures led her to suppress her true self during her youth. Facing bullying in high school, Gabbi began bodybuilding during her sophomore year as a response to the criticism. Despite earning a degree in civil engineering from California Polytechnic State University, her true passion lay in fitness.

Gabbi’s journey took a turn when she was discovered by a WWE agent in Southern California. Introduced as Tyler Reks in June 2009, she became known for her muscular physique adorned with tattoos and dreadlocks. After four years in the WWE, Gabbi retired to focus on personal training and leverage her social media popularity.

During this time, she started exploring her true identity, eventually coming out as a transgender woman in 2021. At the age of 45, Gabbi actively engages as a fitness influencer, sharing her knowledge about weight loss and fitness. Through her social media platforms, she also details her transition journey, including facial feminization surgery, therapy, and the emotional aspects of the process.

Amidst a divorce after 21 years of marriage, Gabbi remains on good terms with her ex-wife. As a successful businesswoman, devoted mother, and trans woman, Gabbi uses her voice to inspire others. Her clients, primarily women facing various challenges, find motivation and self-confidence under her guidance. Gabbi emphasizes the importance of self-acceptance as the first step towards a fulfilling life.
