Pops Fernandez: “Naging boyfriend ko si Ratsky over the phone and I think back then, may girlfriend din si Randy.”
POPS FERNANDEZ – The Concert Queen recently admitted that Randy Santiago became her boyfriend “over the phone”.
The singer appeared on Friday’s episode of “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” where she talked about her love life.
Pops shared in an interview with Boy Abunda that Rowel was her ka-partner but it’s Randy who was persistent, adding that Randy was the funny one and the one who is always calling her.
According to her, Randy became her boyfriend “over the phone” and Randy already has a girlfriend back then.
“Naging boyfriend ko si Ratsky over the phone and I think back then, may girlfriend din si Randy. Sorry!” she said. “Hindi ko lang alam kung alam niya dati na girlfriend ako ni Randy on the phone. Now, alam na niya.”
The singer also shared that her mother once allowed her to go on a movie date with Randy but “hindi na uli na ulit” as her mother got freak out at that time. She added that she and Randy broke up and their phone conversation has ended.
Aside from this, Pops also revealed that “Mr. Pure Energy” Gary Valenciano once courted her but it didn’t amount to an official relationship. She shared that she and Martin Nievera were “not at all” in a relationship at that time.
But when asked how did she end up with Martin, she said that it was the “constant togetherness”.

She shared that they really do have chemistry, adding that she had plenty of suitors at that moment but she was always with Martin and she wasn’t allowed to entertain suitors. According to her, Martin never really courted her but he was always with her.
Pops and Martin got married in 1986 and had their marriage annulled in 2000. However, they continue to be friends.
