A Filipino-American couple in Michigan died in a car crash, leaving behind six children aged 2 to 9
MICHIGAN – A Filipino-American couple, Ryan and Jen Ambrosio, lost their lives in a head-on collision with a speeding pickup truck during a police pursuit operation.
The pursuit involved a stolen pickup truck driven by Angel Melendez-Ortiz, 35, who drove against traffic and collided with the Ambrosio couple’s SUV while they were returning home from a dinner date. Michigan Police reported that the stolen pickup, driven without lights, was traveling at speeds exceeding 100kph at the time of the collision, resulting in the immediate death of Ryan and Jen Ambrosio. The impact was so severe that their SUV was crushed.
Angel Melendez-Ortiz is currently hospitalized and will be facing multiple charges, including two counts of second-degree murder. County prosecutor Karen McDonald expressed her determination to pursue the most severe penalties against the suspect, highlighting the senselessness of the deaths and emphasizing the commitment to justice for the victims and their family.
