Netizens have reached out to Coco Martin to seek help for Jiro Manio

COCO MARTIN – Netizens are reaching out to “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” lead star-director, asking if he could help former child star Jiro Manio.

Jiro recently appeared on “Pinoy Pawnstars” to sell his Gawad Urian trophy. The trophy was awarded to Jiro when he won “Best Actor” for his performance in the film “Magnifico” in 2004. Presently, Jiro is working as a volunteer at DOH Bataan Rehabilitation. He mentioned that he needs to earn for his family, which is why he was prompted to sell the trophy to Boss Toyo.

When Boss Toyo asked him for the selling price, Jiro stated it was ₱500k. However, Boss Toyo bid. He initially offered ₱50k, but Jiro raised it by ₱100k. Boss Toyo then counteroffered with ₱60k, eventually settling on ₱75k, as Boss Toyo claimed it to be the final price.

In the comment section, many netizens expressed sympathy for Jiro.

It’s worth noting that Coco has previously helped many artists who faced challenges and sought a second chance, both in “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” and “Batang Quiapo.” Meanwhile, Coco has not yet provided any statement or response regarding this matter.

Jiro Manio is a former actor whose career started at the age of seven in the film “Pamana.” He gained recognition for his roles in films such as “Magnifico,” for which he received the Best Actor award at the Gawad Urian and the Best Child Actor award at the FAMAS in 2004.
