Loonie On Being Imprisoned: ‘Iniisip ko lang na nagwoworkshop ako tungkol sa isang preso’

Loonie opened up about being imprisoned for four months

LOONIE – The Fliptop battle rapper recalled the moment when he was imprisoned for four months and also shared his experience in jail.

It can be recalled that the Filipino rapper, whose real name is Marlon Peroramas, made headlines after being involved in a drug buy-bust in 2019 and he got out of Makati City jail after posting bail of PHP 2 million in 2020.

He shared some of his experiences in jail during his intimate listening party for his third solo album “Meron Na”.

According to him, he thought he was doing a workshop about a prisoner when that happened because that’s how it is in movies. He shared that he took time to re-evaluate and prioritize everything while he’s in jail.

The rapper also said that had no time for everything before he was detained and he doesn’t have time because he’s always in a hurry at that time, adding that he had all the time in the world when he was imprisoned and he made the most out of it.

Although it was a dark time for him at that time, he shared that rekindling his love and passion for his craft is the only thing kept him going.

The rapper went on to share that he took the time to teach inmates how to rap at that time, saying that inmates seemed happy because he was there as if they felt like they weren’t in prison because he was there every day.

Kahit na medyo madilim yung nangyari sa akin, pero yung the fact na parang masaya sila kasi nandun ako parang pakiramdam nila hindi sila nakakulong dahil araw-araw akong nandun, and iyakin sila nung nakalaya ako,” he said.

Loonie released his new 12-track album “Meron Na” after releasing his solo album “Ultrasound” in 2013.
