NEIL COLETA – The actor reacted to the rumored breakup between Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla.
In the past few days, rumors emerged online that Kathryn and Daniel, popularly known for their love team KathNiel, have ended their 11-year relationship. It started when Ogie Diaz disclosed that a source told him that the DJ and actress Andrea Brillantes were secretly seeing each other.
Neil, one of the close friends of Kathryn and Daniel, admitted that he feels sad about the issues swirling around. He became friends with Kathryn and Daniel when they worked together on the ABS-CBN teleserye “Growing Up” in 2011. He even chose Kathryn and Daniel as the godparents for his first child, Baby Jazzmin, who is now two years old.
“Actually, nalungkot ako kung anuman yung mga nababasa ko, then yung mga namba-bash sa kanila and everything,” Neil said. “Siyempre, sa part ko bilang kaibigan, kumpare, kumare ko pa parehas, ninong at ninang ng anak ko, so nalungkot ako.”
When asked about the alleged involvement of Andrea Brillantes in the rumored breakup of KathNiel, Neil said, “Yung kay Andrea, hindi ko alam, wala akong idea talaga. Pero naririnig ko, nababasa ko.”
His statements make it clear that he neither confirms nor denies any of the issues surrounding Daniel and Kathryn. According to Neil, he doesn’t want to preemptively speak for the two, especially for Daniel. But Neil admitted that he notices a sadness in Daniel when they are together.
In his interview with PEP.ph, Neil emphasized that he is a witness to how good a friend Daniel is. According to Neil, Daniel is one of his friends who willingly helps him in times of need.
Neil also gave a message to Kathryn and Daniel.
