Pageantry has been a central part of Sheynnis’s life. Establishing herself as an early favorite in this year’s competition, she showcased her prowess after participating in various pageants. At the age of 17, she represented her country in the 2016 Miss Teen Universe, reaching the Top 10.

In 2020, she pursued her dream on the Miss World stage in San Juan, Puerto Rico, competing against 96 candidates and making it to the top 40 semifinalists. Unfortunately, her journey to the Reina International Del Cafe in 2022 was interrupted by a battle with COVID-19, forcing her to withdraw from the competition in Colombia.

Despite facing setbacks, Sheynnis redirected her path and, after 68 years, secured the coveted Miss Universe crown for her country.

A trilingual beauty fluent in Spanish, Portuguese, and English, Sheynnis is also a television host in her hometown. Beyond her pageant career, she holds a degree in Mass Communication and is passionate about social justice causes. An adrenaline junkie, she enjoys spending time at the beach, playing volleyball, and exploring nature’s wonders.

In addition to her striking appearance, Sheynnis is a beauty pageant veteran who speaks with purpose. Her official entry, the “Voice for Change” video, addresses the persistent issue of mental health and outlines her advocacy for animal protection and sustainability.

Demonstrating both beauty and brains, Sheynnis, during the Top 5 question and answer segment, highlighted humility and appreciation for the little things as the qualities and values that guide her as a leader and role model for others.

Although her compelling charisma and grace might catch your attention at first glance, it was her response to the final question during the Miss Universe competition that truly captivated the judges. The question posed was, “If you could live one year in another woman’s shoes, who would you choose and why?”

“I will choose Mary Wollstonecraft because she opened the gap and they gave an opportunity to many women. What I would do, I would want that gap, that income gap, would open up so that women could work in any area that they chose to work in because there’s no limitation for women. That was 1750. Now in 2023, we’re making history,” Sheynnis said in Spanish.

By the conclusion of the evening, Sheynnis was celebrated as the ultimate victor, taking over the title from the current queen Rbonney Gabriel.
