Dong Abay comments on Perf De Castro’s post following his exclusion from the Rivermaya reunion promo
DONG ABAY – The vocalist of Yano left a comment on the post of Perfecto “Perf” De Castro after the latter was not included in the promotion for Rivermaya’s reunion concert.
Live Nation Philippines recently made an announcement about the reunion of the band’s original members—Bamboo Mañalac, Rico Blanco, Mark Escueta, and Nathan Azarcon—for a one-night concert scheduled on February 17, 2024, at the SMDC Festival Grounds.
The reunion was a source of great excitement for fans. However, there was an evident absence of Perfecto “Perf” de Castro, the band’s guitarist, in their promotional photo. Perf, an original member of Rivermaya, reacted to not being included in the promotional materials for the upcoming reunion concert by stating, “Wala sa picture, e di wala.”
Netizens voiced their disappointment and apprehension about Perf’s exclusion from the promotional materials for the reunion concert. One individual underscored the belief that the reunion wouldn’t feel complete without Perfecto delivering a guitar solo.
Another netizen expressed a similar sentiment, stressing the significance of having all the original members on stage for the reunion. They suggested that since the reunion concert is scheduled for February, there might still be an opportunity to rectify the situation and ensure the presence of all the original members during the performance.
Among those who commented on his post is Westdon Martin Abay, popularly known as Dong Abay. In the comment section, he noted: “guns n roses na walang slash?!”
Dong Abay is referring to Saul Hudson, popularly known as Slash. He’s a British-American musician who serves as the lead guitarist of the hard rock band Guns N’ Roses, with whom he achieved worldwide success in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Slash has received critical acclaim and is considered one of the greatest guitarists of all time.
