In applying for a German visa, you need to prepare the required documents that must be submitted to the embassy of Germany in your country. The requirements will depend on the purpose of your visit to the foreign nation.

Tourist Visa. If you are visiting Germany to finally crash its beautiful tourist destinations off your bucket list or simply relax in the country on your next vacation, better start prepare the following requirements in applying for a visa to Germany for the purpose of tourism:

  • original and valid Philippine passport
  • travel itinerary preferably handwritten
  • two (2) biometrical passport photos
  • Travel Health insurance
  • visa fee 80 Euro
  • proof of the financial coverage during stay in Germany
    • bank certificate
    • bank statements for the last six (6) months
  • evidence of rootedness in the Philippines
    • Employment Contract
    • Bank Account Statements
    • proof of registration and commercial activity of company
    • School Certificate or proof of Enrollment
    • Income Tax Return
  • Travel history if you have visited a Schengen country
  • If you are traveling with a minor, both parents must appear before the Embassy. The following documents of the traveling minor must be submitted in these cases:
    • If one parent is deceased, present a PSA Death Certificate
    • If parents are divorced or only one parent has the sole custody, present the Court’s decision
    • PSA Birth certificate of Child

Business Visa. In case you are flying to Germany for business purposes, you must secure a Business Visa. Here are the requirements in applying for a visa to Germany for this purpose:

  • original and valid Philippine passport
  • Company letter confirming purpose of business travel if you are representing the company
  • visa fee 80 Euro
  • two (2) biometrical passport photos
  • cover letter with letter head of the company in Germany explaining the purpose of travel
  • Travel history if you have visited a Schengen country
  • proof of the financial coverage during stay in Germany
    • If a Philippine company is funding the trip:
      • cover letter with original bank certificate of the company’s bank account
    • If the inviting German company is covering the cost:
      • cover letter stating that all costs will be borne by the German company as per the § 66-68 AufenthG
  • evidence of rootedness in the Philippines
    • Employment Contract
    • Bank Account Statements
    • proof of registration and commercial activity of company
    • School Certificate or proof of Enrollment

  • Travel Health insurance

Family Visit Visa. If you are flying to Germany to visit a family or friend in the country, you must secure this type of visa. To apply for the specific travel document, prepare and submit the following requirements in applying for a visa to Germany to the German Embassy in your country:

  • invitation letter
  • two (2) biometrical passport photos
  • Travel history if you have visited a Schengen country
  • visa fee 80 Euro
  • Travel Health insurance

  • Guarantee Letter from the local German shipping agency
  • POEA Employment certificate
  • seaman’s book
  • crew list
  • copies of previous Schengen visas
