KYLIE PADILLA – The actress turned to social media, where she posted a vintage magazine featuring her dad, Robin, and mom, Liezl Sicangco, sharing a kiss.
The love story of Robin and Liezl began in the late 1980s and reached a significant point when they got married in 1996. They initially met while working in the entertainment industry, sharing common interests that sparked a connection.
However, their relationship faced significant challenges, particularly when Robin encountered legal issues. In 1994, he was sentenced to eight years in prison for illegal firearm possession. What’s unique is that they chose to marry while Robin was still incarcerated, which was a challenging decision.
When Robin was released after four years, thanks to a conditional pardon from former President Fidel V. Ramos, it wasn’t easy for them to adapt to life outside of prison and rebuild their family. They had four children together: Kylie Padilla, Queenie, Zhen-Zhen, and Ali. Unfortunately, their marriage couldn’t withstand all the difficulties, leading to their eventual separation. On August 19, 2010, Robin married Mariel Rodriguez at the Taj Mahal in India. They had met during his time as a host on Wowowee.
Recently, Kylie Padilla turned to social media and posted an old magazine featuring her parents, Robin and Liezel. The magazine, titled “Romances,” shows her parents sharing a kiss. It was accompanied by a note, stating: “Mama don’t be mad nyahaha. Bilang kayo ang aking magulang natuwa akoooo and it’s so vintage. Not meaning to offend anyone… hihihi it’s just so cute.”
This post was shared on the entertainment website, Fashion Pulis, and, as expected, it generated mixed reactions from netizens. One netizen commented, “Konting busina naman sa asawa ngayon ni Robin.” Another netizen wrote, “Yan ang mahirap pag anak ka ng naghiwalay na parents eh. Ikaw pa maninimbang sa magulang mo at sa current partners/families nila.”
Meanwhile, Kylie has two sons with her estranged husband, Aljur Abrenica—Alas and Axl.
