Epy Quizon shares he almost got into a fistfight with Francis M during their initial meeting
EPY QUIZON – The actor and son of the late Comedy King Dolphy, shared that he almost got into a fistfight with the late Master Rapper Francis M during their first meeting.
During his guest appearance on the GanjaHoops podcast, Epy recounted their initial encounter as quite unfavorable, almost leading to a physical altercation. Epy shared that he had simply aimed to introduce himself to Francis, but the latter found his approach “annoying”, leading to a heated clash between them.
“And I was gonna go and approach him, and say ‘hey I’m Dolphy’s son’ and of all that,” Epy mentioned. “But he thought I was like being annoying, we almost got in a fistfight,” Unexpectedly, the day following the confrontation, Epy, anticipating another altercation with Francis, was surprised when the renowned rapper approached him and offered an apology.
“I go to the next taping day. My father (Dolphy) is there, he sees me, he said ‘I’m sorry’ [sabi ko] ‘Bro, lalapit ako sayo eh, magpapakilala ako sayo eh, hinamon mo ako ng suntukan eh andito ako ngayon, ready na ako, nag stretching na ako,'” Epy recounted.
Despite the rocky start, Epy was deeply saddened by the loss of the talented rapper. “I was listening to Kaleidoscope World like twenty times while crying. That’s how I love the guy,” he expressed.
Meanwhile, Epy Quizon, whose real name is Jeffrey Smith Quizon, is the son of former actress Pamela Ponti (real name Alice Smith) and the iconic comedian Dolphy. His career spans an extensive array of films and television shows, where he showcased his versatile acting skills. He starred in movies like “Markova: Comfort Gay” (2000), “Heneral Luna” (2015), and “Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral” (2018), among others and television series like “Juan dela Cruz” (2013) and “Wildflower” (2018).
