Here’s the reaction of Betong Sumaya on the suspension of It’s Showtime
BETONG SUMAYA – The host of “Eat Bulaga,” has shared his thoughts on the 12-day suspension of “It’s Showtime.” The Kapamilya noontime show is set to return on Saturday, October 28, 2023, after the suspension.
Despite being competitors with “Eat Bulaga,” Betong expressed his sadness over the show’s two-week absence because he considered the people behind “It’s Showtime” his colleagues. He also considers it a valuable lesson for individuals like them who may sometimes be unaware of the words they use or their actions in front of the camera.
Betong also pointed out that hosting a noontime show is a significant responsibility, especially because it’s a live broadcast. Any inadvertent statement or action can potentially lead to undesirable consequences for the show. He also stressed that it’s not just the hosts but also the staff who need to be cautious because there are families dependent on the show.
Addressing speculations that “Eat Bulaga” might be pleased about “It’s Showtime’s” situation, Betong denied this, stating that they empathize with the situation and do not take pleasure in the misfortunes of others. He hopes that “It’s Showtime” and its hosts can learn from the experience and use it as a lesson to improve and avoid repeating similar mistakes in the future.
Betong also expressed his respect for the hosts of “It’s Showtime,” acknowledging the challenges they face are not easy. He emphasized the importance of bringing joy to the audience and the need for Meme Vice (Vice Ganda) to continue doing so.
