While riding a horse, a woman orders something at a fast-food drive-thru
UNUSUAL CUSTOMER – The staff at a McDonald’s branch in Yarrabilba, located south of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, were surprised when a woman placed an order at the fast-food restaurant’s drive-thru while riding a horse.
The woman, riding a gold-coated Palomino, ordered a small soy chai latte. Fortunately, she was entertained by the restaurant crew.
In the video, she can be seen entering the drive-thru after two cars, and her voice can be heard saying, “It says ‘no pedestrians,’ but it doesn’t say no horses, so we’re good.” When she reached the first window, she placed her order. The horse briefly peeked through the window, surprising the cashier and catching the attention of other staff members.
After a few moments, the staff enthusiastically petted the horse. After making payment, the horse walked towards the pick-up window. There, they were greeted by other excited staff members who were delighted by their unusual customer.
One staff member even said hello to the horse, and another took a video. However, the video posted by the woman and the horse on TikTok received criticism from netizens. Many commented that the drive-thru staff should not have allowed the woman to place an order.
In a statement, a spokesperson of McDonald’s clarified: “Ensuring the safety of our people and customers is our top priority at McDonald’s. We have strict safety policies in place and do not allow customers on horseback through the drive-thru, for the safety of the rider, our employees, fellow customers and the animal.”
The woman riding the horse jokingly explained why she did it, saying, “I have no shame.” She also mentioned being frustrated with the high price of gasoline.
