Actor Jay Manalo is being linked to a politician
JAY MANALO – The actor has refuted the claims that he is the “actor boytoy” linked to a politician.
Jay’s name has been brought up in a series of sensitive remarks made by Cebu-based cardiologist Dr. Rowena Burden against Cebu Governor Gwen Garcia. The actor has been accused of being the “actor boytoy” that Burden was referring to.
On Wednesday, September 6, 2023, netizens asserted that the “actor boytoy” mentioned in the juicy blind items of the Cebu-based doctor is none other than actor Jay Manalo.
The actor provided a comment on the issue and expressed surprise at being implicated in a matter he claims to have no involvement in or knowledge of. “Sa totoo lang, noon ko pa narinig yan at witness ko sina Bro. Rob Sy at Mareng Nadia Montenegro. Panahon pa noon ng pandemic,” he told Cabinet Files.
“Actually, yung nagtanong sa akin niyan ay government official. Then, ang sagot ko sa kanya, ‘Sinong Garcia?’ E, hindi ko nga alam na government official din pala yung itinatanong niya sa akin. So, from there and then, naguluhan na rin siya,” he added.
Jay emphasized that he does not know Governor Gwen Garcia. “Hindi ko talaga siya kilala, kahit sino sa kanilang dalawang magkaaway,” he said while referring to Garcia and Burden. Then, the actor made an appeal not to involve his name in the controversy for the sake of his family. “Please, huwag ninyong gamitin ang name ko dahil pamilyadong tao ako. Never akong napupunta sa Cebu.”
According to him, the last time he visited the province was during a celebrity basketball event, and after that, he returned to Manila. Jay agreed to speak to clear his name from a sensitive, malicious, and allegedly untrue issue.
