Donny Pangilinan: “Sobrang dream come true ito para sa akin to be honest.”
DONNY PANGILINAN – The actor recently spoke about working with his mother, actress Maricel Laxa, in a movie titled “GG”.
The actor is set to star in the first-ever e-sports movie in the Philippine titled “GG”, which stands for “Good Game”. This will be the first time that he will star alongside his mother in a film.
Donny’s sister Hannah Pangilinan is the creative producer of the movie.
The actor said during the cast and poster reveal media conference held last September 21, 2023 that the movie is a dream come true for him. He also shared that, his dream was to have a project with his mother ever since he entered showbiz.
“And, when we read the script, when we were given the idea of just portraying a mother and a son in this way, this manner, parang naging isang karangalan na makasama ko ang isang Maricel Laxa,” he said. “So ‘yun lang ang masasabi ko. It will be something I’m sure we will look back on as the years go by, as a movie that we will probably never forget for sure.”
Donny was also asked how his mother was convinced to become part of the project. The actor said that it went through a whole process of looking at the script and looking at the material, adding that his mother won’t do a project that she doesn’t fully believe in.
He added that it was a process of evaluating if it’s the best project for him and his mother to be a part of.
Donny also said that they already finished filming and the project is already in the editing stage.
