Bong Revilla: “Kung matutuloy ang suspension ay dalawang linggong walang kikitain at kakainin”
BONG REVILLA – The senator has appealed to the Office of the President (OP) to consider the employees who are on a “no work, no pay” basis over the suspension imposed by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) against It’s Showtime.
This appeal comes after the MTRCB denied the Motion for Reconsideration filed by “It’s Showtime” in response to the suspension, which was imposed due to the controversial icing incident involving the partners Vice Ganda and Ion Perez.
“Without getting into the merits of the case, sana na-consider ng MTRCB ang kapakanan nung mga maliliit na staff at crew nung show na wala namang kinalaman at kasalanan dun sa nangyari,” Revilla stated. He continued, “Sila yung mga ‘no work-no pay’ na kung matutuloy ang suspension ay dalawang linggong walang kikitain at kakainin.”
Furthermore, the senator mentioned that ABS-CBN and GMA could file another appeal with the Office of the President within fifteen days. “I think lessons have been learned. Kung nagkaroon man ng pagkakamali, ang kasalanan ni Juan ay hindi kasalanan ni Pedro. So I hope we don’t punish those working hard day in-day out just to eke out a livingg,” Senator Bong emphasized.
Recall that the MTRCB previously imposed a 12-day suspension on It’s Showtime following complaints received by the agency, particularly regarding the controversial act where Vice Ganda and Ion Perez allegedly consumed icing in a suggestive manner in front of children participating in the “Isip Bata” segment.
However, due to the MTRCB’s decision, the agency faced the anger of netizens, with some calling online for the abolition of the MTRCB and the resignation of Chairman Lala Sotto.
