Kylie Verzosa: “I think it’s pretty interesting.”
KYLIE VERZOSA – The Miss International 2016 titleholder recently spoke about the changes in Miss International 2023 pageant.
To recall, Stephen Diaz revealed that the Miss International 2023 pageant competition will nix the swimsuit parade during the final gala.
The beauty queen-turned-actress is the 6th Filipina to bring home the Miss International crown as she was crowned Miss International 2016. Before her, the Filipina titleholders were Bea Rose Santiago (2013), Precious Lara Quigaman (2005), Melanie Marquez (1979), Aurora Pijuan (1970), and Gemma Cruz (1964).
In an interview with Inquirer, Kylie said that she’s looking forward to the changes that the global competition will implement for the Miss International 2023 pageant. She also said that Miss International is known for ‘holding its culture”, adding that “change is good”.
“I think it’s pretty interesting. Miss International is known for, you know, holding its culture. So, for me, change is good,” she said. “I really trust Stephen in his decisions. I like what he did last year, so, they’re better stage production, more engaging.”
She also said she hopes to see a “more relatable” staging of the Miss International 2023 pageant competition under Diaz’s direction. Diaz is the first Filipino to be appointed as head director of pageant organizer ICA (International Cultural Association).
The Miss International 2023 pageant competition will stage its coronation show on October 26 at the Yoyogi Gymnasium in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan.
Nicole Borromeo will represent the Philippines in this year’s Miss International pageant competition. It can be recalled that the beauty queen was crowned Binibining Pilipinas in 2022.
It can be recalled that Kylie said in an interview at the opening of the LVNA By Drake Fine Diamond Jewelry at the Shangri-La Mall in Mandaluyong City last June that she’s prioritizing work over her romantic relationships.
