Most of the responders during emergencies like a natural calamity are government agencies. There are several state institutions in the Philippines that immediately deploy assistance to those who are in need of help. They have designated hotlines and trunk lines where the populace can contact them in times of need.

When it comes to typhoons in the country, with Philippines being one of the nations often struck by storms, it is the Natural Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council that updates the people. It is more commonly called NDRRMC and it sends text messages which contain update about the typhoon to everyone. The updates include storm signals and warnings.

Another government-agency that plays a big role when typhoons hit the country is the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration or more popularly called PAGASA. It is the government body that provides a detailed information about the storm including the areas that will be affected.

PAGASA is also a reference of the NDRRMC with regards to the information it relays to the public. Like in the current typhoon in the country, #GoringPH, it is the body that releases advisory.
