Teachers May Receive 2021 Performance-based Bonus in 2 to 3 Weeks According to DepEd

DepEd announces teachers may expect to receive their 2021 performance-based bonus

DEPED – The Department of Education has announced that teachers may expect to receive their 2021 performance-based bonus (PBB) within the next two to three weeks. However, this will depend on all 15 regions being able to submit the revised form required by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM).

DepEd Assistant Secretary Francis Bringas stated in an interview on Super Radyo dzBB that several regions, including the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, and Mimaropa, have already submitted Form 1.0 of school-based personnel to the DBM. This form is a prerequisite for the release of PBB funds.

Bringas explained that the DBM needs approximately two to three weeks to process the forms for all 15 regions, considering the large number of DepEd recipients. The processing time is necessary due to the volume of applications.

On Monday, the DBM announced that it had returned the submitted Form 1.0 of the 15 regions outside Metro Manila to the Personnel Division, Bureau of Human Resource, and Organizational Development (BHROD) for revalidation or revision. The reasons for this included duplicate entries and personnel not found in the agency’s Personal Services Itemization and Plantilla of Personnel (PSIPOP).

Regarding the National Capital Region (NCR), DepEd stated that teachers in this area might receive their 2021 PBB earlier than others. This was made possible after the DBM issued a Special Allotment Release Order and Notice of Cash Allocation worth P950,942,317 to DepEd for eligible school-based personnel in the NCR region.
