The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration or OWWA is one of the government agencies in the Philippines that offers services that benefits not only the individuals with a direct link to it such as the OFWs but as well as their families. It even offers scholarships to deserving dependents of Pinoys working abroad.
One of the scholarship offers of OWWA is the OFW Dependent Scholarship Program (ODSP). It is open for application to dependents of OFWs who earn not more than U.S. $600 a month.
Guide on OWWA Scholarship Application
Step 1 – Are you Qualified?
If you are an incoming first year college student, you must be:
- Single
- Grade 11 graduate (Incoming Grade 12 / currently enrolled as Grade 12)
- Not more than 21 years old
- With a General Weighted Average (GWA) of 80% in all academic and non-academic subjects during the last school year attended in full load
If you are currently in your 2nd-5th year in college, you must be:
- Single
- Not more than 30 years old
- With a General Weighted Average (GWA) of 80% in all academic and non-academic subjects during the last school year attended in full load
Step 2 – Prepare the Requirements.

Step 3 – Go to a branch of OWWA.
Bring your documents to a branch of OWWA. A committee screens all the scholarship applications and may call you in for an interview.
