REQUIREMENTS FOR OWWA SCHOLARSHIP – Here are the documents needed in applying to be a scholar of the ODSP scholarship.

Have you heard about the OFW Dependent Scholarship Program (ODSP) of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration or OWWA? It is a scholarship offer for dependents of OFWs who earn not more than U.S. $600 monthly.

The ODSP provides financial assistance to its qualified scholars. Here are the eligibility requirements for this OWWA scholarship application:

If you are an incoming first year college student, you must be:

  • Single
  • Grade 11 graduate (Incoming Grade 12 / currently enrolled as Grade 12)
  • Not more than 21 years old
  • With a General Weighted Average (GWA) of 80% in all academic and non-academic subjects during the last school year attended in full load

If you are currently in your 2nd-5th year in college, you must be:

  • Single
  • Not more than 30 years old
  • With a General Weighted Average (GWA) of 80% in all academic and non-academic subjects during the last school year attended in full load

There are also documentary requirements for the OWWA scholarship application. Gather these documents and submit them to an office of the government agency nearest to your residence for the application:

  • Scholarship Application Form
  • OFW Membership Record
  • 2pcs. I.D. Picture with Name Tag
  • At least one (1) valid I.D. of the OFW and/or the Authorized Representative
  • Proof of Relationship to OFW Member i.e. Birth Certificate from PSA or LCR
    OFW Birth Certificate, if dependent is siblingOFW Certificate of No Marriage Record (CENOMAR, if single) Dependent’s Birth Certificate6.     • Medical Certificate i.e. Physically Fit to attend school if student has a medical pre-condition/s
