Mario is a renowned entertainment reporter. He obtained his education at the University of the Philippines Los Baños, where he actively engaged as a campus journalist and graduated in 1975.
In 1987, Mario married Cherie, and together they had five children named Luigi, Miguel (who also worked at ABS-CBN), Maxine, William, and Thessa. They were also blessed with three grandchildren. Sadly, in mid-2023,
CAREER
Throughout his career, Mario contributed significantly to the field of entertainment journalism, leaving behind a remarkable legacy. Mario began his professional journey as a staff writer for the Ministry of Agriculture before working at a financing company and later a shipping company.
In 1982, he joined the Times Journal as an entertainment reporter and was assigned to cover the Manila International Film Festival. Subsequently, while working as a columnist for the newspaper Malaya, he received an offer from Angelique Lazo, the entertainment anchor of the flagship news program TV Patrol, to join ABS-CBN.
