Here’s the latest update on Tropical Depression Dodong according to PAGASA
TROPICAL DEPRESSION DODONG – PAGASA announced via its latest bulletin issued at 11 AM today, July 14, 2023, that #DodongPH has maintained its strength as it moves north northwestward over the northwestern Cagayan area.
It is traversing north northwestward at 15 km/h and has maximum sustained winds of 45 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 75 km/h, and central pressure of 1000 hPa. The center of the eye of Tropical Depression Dodong was located in the vicinity of Allacapan, Cagayan (18.2°N, 121.5°E)
Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 has been raised in the following areas: Cagayan, Isabela, Apayao, Kalinga, Abra, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Benguet, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, and the northern portion of Pangasinan (San Nicolas, San Manuel, Sison, San Fabian, Pozorrubio, Bolinao, Bani, City of Alaminos, Sual, Labrador, Lingayen, Agno, Binmaley, Dagupan City, San Jacinto, Mangaldan, Anda).
Certain regions are facing potential hazards due to weather conditions. Heavy rainfall is predicted in provinces like Cagayan, Isabela, and Quirino, which may cause flooding and landslides in vulnerable areas. The enhanced Southwest Monsoon, influenced by the weather disturbance DODONG, could bring strong winds and gusty conditions to various regions including MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Western Visayas, CALABARZON, and Metro Manila. Mariners should exercise caution as moderate to rough seas are expected along the eastern and western seaboards of Northern Luzon, as well as the western seaboards of Central and Southern Luzon.
Tropical Depression Dodong is forecasted to move westward across northern mainland Northern Luzon and then continue northwestward over the West Philippine Sea before leaving the Philippine Area of Responsibility. It will remain a tropical depression while crossing mainland Northern Luzon and might strengthen into a tropical storm over the West Philippine Sea.
