Using their car, a couple from the US traveled to 116 countries

LONG JOURNEY – A couple from the United States has been recognized by the Guinness World Records (GWR) for traveling to 116 countries using their car.

In a report of GWR, the couple identified as James Rogers and Paige Parker from New York earned the record title of “most countries visited in a continuous journey by car” after traveling to 116 countries. “[They] are quite the roadtrippers,” GWR said. “In fact, they love traveling so much, they went on the journey of a lifetime.”

Their journey started on January 1, 1999, in Iceland onboard their “hard top convertible one-of-a-kind Mercedes Benz”. Driven by their curiosity to learn about what people do in different countries and see how they go about their lives, the couple’s journey continued until January 5, 2002, and they reportedly reached all six continents. “Every day was unique and an adventure,” said James.

They reportedly experienced passing through various border crossings, damaged roads, and even war-torn areas. They claimed to have met people of different backgrounds, traversed deserts and forests, faced epidemics, and tasted various delicious and sometimes exotic foods. According to James, he no longer knows how much he and Paige spent during that journey. Nevertheless, they will never forget the abundance of beautiful memories it brought into their lives.

Meanwhile, the journey served as inspiration for Paige to write her memoir titled “Don’t Call Me Mrs. Rogers.” “[My memoir is about] the epic circumnavigation, as well as my own personal evolution, while shining light on the courageous, resourceful women I met from Azerbaijan to Zimbabwe,” Paige said on her blog.

As of now, the couple has reportedly moved to Singapore to live with their two children studying Mandarin.
