Celebs remember Ricky Rivero
RICKY RIVERO – Celebrities took to social media to pay tribute to the former teen star turned television/movie director.
Rivero passed away on July 16, 2023, leaving the public in shock. He had suffered a stroke in May and had been undergoing treatment at the Philippine Heart Center. His death which was confirmed by his uncle Phillip Salvador earned significant condolences from his friends and colleagues from the entertainment industry.
Actress Harlene Bautista, a close friend of Ricky, expressed her grief on Instagram, remembering their recent conversation. She referred to him as her dance partner, favorite lifter, and Rick Astley. Harlene wished him to rest and expressed her love and gratitude for their friendship.
Many others from the showbiz community, including Jennifer Sevilla, Almira Muhlach, and Jobelle Salvador, left heartfelt messages of sympathy. Jobelle, Ricky’s cousin, expressed her denial and regret for not fulfilling her promises to him sooner. She believed that Ricky’s suffering had ended and that he was in a better place. She cherished the memories they shared and expressed her love and gratitude.
Guji Lorenzana, a singer-actor, acknowledged Ricky’s significant support during his early career and expressed his gratitude and respect. Similarly, actor-turned-politician Herbert Bautista mourned the loss of his friend and colleague, extending his condolences to the Salvador and Rivero families.
Singer-actor Ronnie Liang praised Ricky’s dedication and professionalism, emphasizing their collaboration on the TV series “Ghost Adventures.” Former actress Bunny Paras reminisced about their time together on That’s Entertainment and beach outings, bidding farewell and offering condolences.
Other showbiz colleagues, including Niño Muhlach, Maricel Morales, Melissa Gibbs, and Lassy Marquez, also expressed their condolences. His body is currently at the Loyola Memorial Chapels and Crematorium in Quezon City, awaiting funeral arrangements.
