LUIS HONTIVEROS – The model and actor gave a reaction after being criticized due to his version of the Mayonnaise hit song “Jopay” at an event in Pagadian City on June 19, 2023.

A video of his performance, where he sang ‘Jopay’ during the Miss Pagadian 2023 pageant, went viral and garnered millions of views on social media. However, many internet users criticized Luis’s performance and accused him of being under the influence at the time due to his poor singing.

Some individuals even criticized the Pagadian City Government for allegedly wasting public funds by hiring Luis. In response, Luis denied being under the influence during the performance in a Facebook post and referred to his critics as ‘jealous.’ He also shared a video showing support and cheers from Pagadian City officials.

“Para sa inyo to mga Ka-Jopay na sobrang gigil sa akin at nagsasabing lasing ako at sayang daw ibinayad ng Pagadian City, hahaha!” he said. “Si Mayor Sammy Co and his family mismo ang nag-cheer niyan. maka-react kayo, akala nyo kasali kyo sa live event namin hahaha. Inggit pikit.”

The actor also mentioned that he is not forcing netizens to watch him. “Di naman kayo pinilit na manood pero honestly guys, to all my bashers, thank you so much for this! You guys are the best!” he stressed.

Despite the criticism, netizens couldn’t resist watching the performance, which had already amassed hundreds of thousands of reactions online.

Meanwhile, Luis Hontiveros, whose full name is Enrique Roberto Luis Hontiveros Samonte is a 30-year-old Filipino-Spanish ramp model and actor from Taguig. He is a nephew of incumbent Senator Risa Hontiveros. He rose to fame when he became part of Pinoy Big Brother Lucky 7.
