Joyce Pring: “When Aggie came out, she had a true knot”

JOYCE PRING – After giving birth to her second child, the content creator and podcast host recently shared her unmedicated birth story.

It was last April 21, 2023 when she and her husband Juancho Triviño welcomed their second child, baby Agnes Eleanor or “Aggie”. She shared that she had a safe delivery, but it was filled with unexpected twists and turns at that time.

The content creator released a vlog titled “Unmedicated Birth Story with My Daughter, Unexpected Precipitous Labor, True Knot” on her YouTube channel where she opened up about her unmedicated birth story with her daughter.

In the said vlog, Joyce said that she was already in full term by the time she gave birth to her second child. She shared that she was just exhausted from being “super pregnant” at that time.

According to her, she planned on having an unmedicated birth — no epidural or anesthesia — for her second child. She also said that she gave birth to baby Aggie “in a span of two hours”.

Joyce continued to narrate her increasing contractions and the intense pain she felt at that time.

During childbirth, she said she gave 5 intense pushes before baby Aggie came out. Nonetheless, she said that she would still undergo an unmedicated childbirth if she can when she gets pregnant again.

A lot of people ask me, would you do it again unmedicated? Yes and yes, but this was really scary in the sense na ang daming things that could’ve gone wrong,” she said. “First of all, precipitous labor is not normal. Second, when Aggie came out she had a true knot which happens in I think less than 1% of pregnancies.

The content creator then shared that baby Aggie’s umbilical cord is knotted when she came out and it makes her really emotional just thinking about it. According to her, the rare condition wasn’t detected in her ultrasounds.

She ended her vlog by sharing that she had more difficulties during childbirth after her second child came out.
