JOEY DE LEON – The veteran television host and comedian took to the social media platform, Instagram wherein he posted a clip of the original Eat Bulaga! theme song.
On Thursday, June 15, 2023, he went to IG where he posted a portion of Eat Bulaga theme song. However, the ending part of the song’s intro was cut short, omitting the words “Eat Bulaga!”
Joey shared a portion of the song’s lyrics, which goes: “Mula Batanes hanggang Jolo, saan ka man ay halina kayo, isang libo’t isang tuwa, buong bansa… buong bansa…” In the original song, the line following “buong bansa” is “Eat Bulaga!”
Joey captioned the post with, “Whole country… all over the world… WAITING [heart emoji].” Some of the commenters on Joey’s post included Miles Ocampo, Maja Salvador, and Jopay Paguia.
On June 14, a photoshoot took place in the TV5 studios located on Reliance St., Mandaluyong City. Joey, Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and the “legit Dabarkads” were present during the photoshoot.
Aside from the on-camera talents, the studio was also filled with production staff who joined them after their departure from TAPE Inc. on May 31, 2023. Several TV5 executives were also present in the studio, as shown by Ryan Agoncillo in his Facebook live on the TVJ page.
On June 12, Joey expressed his thoughts regarding GMA-7, expressing his disappointment in the alleged lack of communication from the network executives during their issues with TAPE. This highlighted the challenges they faced and the importance of effective communication in their industry.
