Eat Bulaga

Throughout its history, “Eat Bulaga!” has entertained audiences with its variety of segments, games, and performances. The show has also adapted to changes in technology and is now available for streaming on Facebook and YouTube.

The show’s journey has seen it transition between different networks. It originally aired on Radio Philippines Network (RPN) from 1979 to 1989, and then moved to ABS-CBN from 1989 to 1995 due to circumstances related to the sequestration of RPN. Finally, in 1995, “Eat Bulaga!” found its home on GMA Network, where it has remained ever since.

But on May 31, Wednesday, Eat Bulaga made a heartfelt announcement regarding its departure from TV production company TAPE Inc. Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon, visibly emotional, delivered the news, emphasizing that they were apparently not allowed to air any live episodes.

During the announcement, Vic expressed, “Simula ngayong araw, May 31,2023, kami po ay magpapaalam na sa TAPE Inc. Karangalan po namin na kami’y nakapaghatid ng tuwa’t saya mula Batanes hanggang Jolo, at naging bahagi ng buhay ninyo. Maraming maraming salamat sa inyong lahat.”

The hosts, fighting back tears, expressed their deep gratitude to the show’s supporters, advertisers, and production team for their unwavering support throughout the years. Their appreciation extended to everyone who had been part of the show’s journey, acknowledging the significant impact they had made on their lives.
