James Yap Shares First Convo with Son Bimby After Several Years

First convo between James Yap and Bimby after several years

JAMES YAP – The basketball player recently had his first conversation with his son, Bimby Aquino Yap, after several years of not communicating with each other.

This significant event was prompted by Bimby himself, who reached out to his father on Father’s Day, as shared by Kris Aquino, James’ former partner. Despite feeling reluctant, Bimby took the courageous step towards rebuilding their relationship, acknowledging that it will take time to fully repair it.

In an interview with Dolly Anne Carvajal of Inquirer, James expressed his overwhelming happiness upon finally reconnecting with his son after an eight-year gap. He had fervently prayed for this day to arrive and greatly missed Bimby’s presence in his life.

James shared that during their conversation, Bimby expressed his excitement about reuniting with his brother MJ and expressed his desire to meet his sister Francine soon. Additionally, Bimby wished his father luck in his new career as a public servant.

““I’ve been praying for this day to come. Na-miss ko sobra si Bimb! It’s the best Father’s Day gift ever. He said that he is looking forward to seeing his brother MJ again and meet his sister Francine soon. He wished me luck in my new career as a public servant,” James Yap said.

In 2021, Bimby revealed that he had never spoken to his father, stating that his mother’s presence was sufficient for him. When asked if he was ready to forgive James, Bimby bluntly expressed his lack of concern for the matter.

Kris also denied being the one who influenced Bimby’s decision to avoid contact with James. Furthermore, Bimby disclosed that James had been aware of his phone number all along but had not made any attempts to reach out to him over the course of several years.
