DECEMBER AVENUE – The gig poster of the 5-piece indie pop/alternative rock band which was posted on Facebook has elicited mixed reactions from the netizens.

December Avenue is a highly acclaimed 5-piece indie pop/alternative rock band. They have gained widespread recognition for their viral compositions shared online, making them one of the most streamed OPM (Original Pilipino Music) bands of all time. The band consists of Zel Bautista, who handles vocals and guitars, Jem Manuel on guitars, Don Gregorio on bass, Jet Danao on drums and backing vocals, and Gelo Cruz on keyboards and backing vocals.

The journey of December Avenue began in 2007 when Bautista, Manuel, Gregorio, and Danao came together at the University of Santo Tomas. Later in 2016, Cruz, an alumnus of De La Salle-College of St. Benilde, joined the band. Bautista serves as the primary composer for the group. Initially gaining recognition for their English-language songs, the band shifted to releasing Tagalog songs starting in 2016.

The band is behind some of the famous songs such as; Huling Sandali, Eroplanong Papel, Sa Ngalan Ng Pag-Ibig, Bulong, Kung ‘Di Rin Lang Ikaw, Kahit Di Mo Alam, Sleep Tonight, Dahan, Magkunwari, Saksi Ang Langit, Kahit Sa Panaginip.

Earlier, the band took to the social networking site, Facebook wherein it posted a schedule of their gig this June to July. The post was accompanied by the caption: “Sorry nag absent yung graphic designer namin e.”
