A conversation between a teacher and a hungry student captures the attention of netizens

HUNGRY STUDENT – A conversation between a teacher and a Grade 7 student asking for permission to go home, because she hasn’t taken her breakfast and doesn’t even have food for lunch, went viral.

On Facebook, a teacher who goes by the name of “Renwa Alicante” shared his conversation with a student that truly captured the attention of netizens at the same time break the hearts of many. Their conversation began with the student asking for permission if she could go home because she was really hungry. She revealed that she hasn’t taken her breakfast and doesn’t even have food for lunch.

After the teacher asked where she lives, she explained that she attended school because of “pabasa”. While the teacher is explaining that their school is too far from their house, Alicante handed her a certain amount, so that she could buy food for her lunch and won’t be able to be absent from her class.

In the later part of his post, the teacher stressed that his conversation with the student is an eye-opener to students who are “not minding their left-over foods, being so choosy about their snacks, and ungrateful to their 5 or 10 pesos recess.” The teacher is contemplating how many students would go to school with an empty stomach and just drink “ice-water.”

Here’s the post:

“CONVO WITH A GRADE 7 STUDENT

Student: Sir mananghid ko sir nga mouli nako sir.

Me: Ngano man? Ang imo klase?

Student: Gutom na kaayo sir. Wala pa koy pamahaw, wala pod koy balon paniudto sir. (Tulo ang luha) Wala man gud si mama ug papa sir. (Nag inom2 ra sa iyang ice water)

Me: Taga-asa man diay ka?

Student: Taga Sitio *** sir.

Pagbinut-an.

Student: Salamat kaayo sir.

This is really what we are talking about. While other students are not minding their left-over foods, being so choosy about their snacks, and ungrateful to their 5 or 10 pesos recess, then here comes this skinny Grade 7 student who entered my office asking for permission to go home because she hasn’t taken her breakfast and doesn’t even have food for lunch.

Pila pa kaha ka mga estudyante nato ang gasulod ra sa klase, inom2 ug ice-water, pero walay kaon.”

As of posting, their conversation has earned more than 23k reactions and was shared over 14k times. His post also went viral and has captured the attention of netizens. Here are some of the comments:
