Slater Young Apologizes For His Comment Saying It’s “Normal” For Committed Men To “Fantasize” Other Women

Slater Young: “Sometimes you think that you did something OK and it takes a little while for it to sink in na, ‘Oo nga no, mali pala talaga ako'”

SLATER YOUNG – The content creator has apologized for his comment saying that it’s “normal” for committed men to “fantasize” other women.

To recall, Slater and his wife Kryz Uy released an episode on “SKYPodcast” where they gave advice to a letter sender who is frustrated about her boyfriend fantasizing about other women. At that time, Slater said that men’s conversations about other women are “normal”.

While some netizens accusing Slater of enabling misogyny and criticizing Kryz for condoning her husband’s statements, others said that their podcast episode was “triggering” and called Slater a “red flag”.

The celebrity couple recently released an episode of their podcast where they talked about the issue. According to him, it has been a hard but eye-opening few days for him as he processed what happened at that time.

Sometimes you think that you did something OK and it takes a little while for it to sink in na, ‘Oo nga no, mali pala talaga ako’,” Slater said. “Kasi s’yempre pag merong mga comments and merong mga reactions na parang ina-attack ka your first instinct is to be defensive.

Slater also said that he read through many comments because he felt like he’s in bubble that he couldn’t see what other people were seeing. He added that he should have set a better example for other people.

The content creator then said he realized that his words could be used as a tool to justify objectifying behavior.

Slater also said that it’s a learning experience for them to be mindful of the platform they have and the effect that their words have on the listeners of their platform as well.

For her part, Kryz Uy supported her husband through the discussion and acknowledged that he made a mistake. She also assured him that she knows he’s not what the public thinks he is.

I’m at peace with that, I know you’re a good guy,” Kryz said.
