Richard Gutierrez Says His Sons Follow His Fight Stunts

Richard Gutierrez: “They like copying the fight scenes I do in the show, especially my youngest.”

RICHARD GUTIERREZ – The actor said that his sons copied the fight stunts he did in the action-drama series “The Iron Heart”.

The “The Iron Heart” star recently shared that he didn’t get to watch his own TV series every night because he would often be busy taping, but his sons Zion and Kai are always updated about the show.

He also shared that his sons follow his action-drama series so closely that one of them greeted him with a side kick in the stomach when he came home from work.

Richard added that he tried to tell his son Kai that it’s not good to kick someone, but he’s now seriously considering enrolling him in martial arts class.

They like copying the fight scenes I do in the show, especially my youngest. I tell Kai, ‘We only do that to bad people. Don’t do that to your classmates’,” he said in an interview with Inquirer Entertainment. “One time, he did a side kick that hit me on the stomach. He did this to me when I arrived home, without saying a word.

Inquirer Entertainment reported that Richard’s son Zion is more interested in performing onstage and Zion was the one who asked him if he could enroll in the voice class offered in school. According to him, Zion is also part of the theater club there.

If he had his way, the actor said that he wanted Zion to finish school before joining the showbiz industry. He added that Zion is a doting and caring big brother to his younger brother Kai.

In terms of disciplining his sons, the actor said that he makes sure he and his wife Sarah Lahbati are on the same page.

We try to agree on one thing so that it will not be confusing to the kids,” he said. “Also, I was never the type who would hit a child as a way to punish or discipline him. Besides, they are already afraid of me when they see me looking so serious.
