Couple Returns Woman’s 5-Decade-Old Ring After Nearly Losing It

A woman’s valuable ring is returned by a couple after nearly losing it

MARIKINA – A woman in the city nearly lost the ring that serves as a memory of her late husband, but luckily, a couple was able to return it to her.

Fritz Sapon shared on Facebook that he returned the ring to Lola Leticia “Letty” Sarmiento, its rightful owner since 1969. The post went viral and was well-received by netizens.

Lola Letty didn’t realize that the ring had fallen off her finger until her daughter saw the post and contacted the couple. Fritz and his wife, Sheine, consider Lola Letty their second mother and were honored to return the ring to its rightful owner.

Lola Letty is a retired public school teacher who enjoys Korean dramas and travel. She hopes that more people like Fritz and Sheine, who have pure hearts and good values, will emerge. “Sana dumami pa ang mga katulad nila na may malinis na puso, busilak na pusong tumulong, may concern, at saka really true, maganda ang kanilang values,” Lola Letty said.

The couple hopes to have the same kind of love and worth that Lola Letty had with her late husband after 54 years. “Para po sa amin na married couple, it’s also an overview of what we could be as a couple. The kind of love… para sa inyong namayapang asawa, eh sana rin po magkaroon din po kami ng ganoong worth in 54 years more,” the couple noted.

Meanwhile, losing something valuable, especially if it was from a departed loved one, can be an extremely painful experience. The sentimental value attached to the item can make the loss even more significant, as it may be a tangible reminder of the person who has passed away.

This sense of loss can be amplified if the item was a family heirloom that had been passed down through generations, or if it held a special significance for the person who has lost it. Losing something valuable can cause feelings of grief, sadness, and regret, and it can be challenging to overcome these emotions, particularly if the item cannot be recovered.
