New modus operandi
NEW MODUS OPERANDI – A student at the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) almost fell victim to a new modus operandi.
On Facebook, a certain Stephanie Jean narrated the experience of her little sister. According to her, a lady in her late 30s to 40s approached her sister at a Mercury Drugstore near UPLB and asked if she could “smell” something because she couldn’t.
She handed her a small paper thing and asked her to take a whiff of it. After she did, the lady immediately disappeared. Later, two other people, who seemed to be with the lady, came into the store and started following her sister who had smelled the paper.
Feeling uncomfortable, her sister stood near the guard, and after 30 minutes, she began to feel numb in half of her body. The two people continued to circle the store and watch her until they left with a friend who picked them up. However, even hours later, her sister still felt drowsy and numb on one side of their body.
It is not yet clear what kind of substance was on the paper, but the incident is very alarming. The numbness and drowsiness could have been caused by a dangerous drug, and it is possible that this is a new r*pe or kidnapping modus operandi.
It is important to be vigilant and to inform loved ones of this new modus operandi. If anyone experiences a similar situation, they should immediately seek help from authorities and avoid engaging with strangers in suspicious situations. Stay safe and aware at all times.

So my little sister just called me minutes ago telling me what happened to her in Los Baños. Basically there’s this Mercury Drugstore near her school (UPLB) and she went there at around 5 PM and there was a lady (around her late 30s-40s) who asked her if she could ”smell” something cus she couldn’t smell it. My sister got the little paper thingy and sprayed it, took a whiff, and told her it smells okay naman then she literally disappeared right after. Then two other people came inside the store (assuming they’re with the old lady) and my sister saw in her peripheral that they were kinda following her(stalker vibez).
She immediately felt unsafe. She stayed near the guard and 30 mins after she felt that half of her body became NUMB.
The 2 people with the old lady stayed in the store for like a loooong while, circling the store and WATCHING HER. She was still standing next to the guard. a few minutes later she saw them get one small thing. She stayed with the guard before she asked her friend to pick her up.
Fast forward to 7 PM later and she still felt very drowsy and couldn’t feel half her body.
Now retelling the account of what happened, I’m just so happy my sister’s smart enough to get away from that.
I don’t know what’s on that “perfume” but it’s definitely sketchy. I don’t know what kind of modus this is, but imagine what could have happened. Loss of sensation & knocks you up? Could be a rape/kidnap modus and this is very SCARY. Please be alarmed and STAY SAFE. Inform your loved ones about this.
