Piolo Pascual Shares Downside Of Being Network Artist

Piolo Pascual: “When I was still under a network contract, I couldn’t do the stuff I wanted.”

PIOLO PASCUAL – The actor-producer spoke about the downside of being a network artist and also opened up about being a freelancer.

During the media launch of “Ibarra”, Piolo told Inquirer Entertainment that a concept either for a TV series or a movie is being developed out of the reunion photo of him and co-actors Diether Ocampo, Jericho Rosales, and John Lloyd Cruz that went viral in early April.

He said that he has commissioned someone to develop a concept for them “before someone beats me to it”. “Hopefully, we can get the first draft of the script soon and start working on it,” he told Inquirer Entertainment. “From there, we shall see if we could turn it into a TV series or a movie project.

The actor went on to share the downside of being a network artist, saying that he couldn’t do the stuff he wanted when he was still under a network contract because he worked for the network exclusively.

According to him, his projects were all network-related or those that were commissioned by his bosses when he’s under a network contract at that time.

Piolo also said that he’s able to personally choose the roles he takes on as a freelancer, adding that he has more freedom to accept projects that interest him.

I’m grateful that interesting projects are still coming my way,” he said. “Being a freelancer means I’m now able to personally choose the roles I take on. Now, I have more freedom to accept projects that interest me.

The actor added that it’s a privilege to be able to wear different hats – one of which is being a producer.
