Miles Ocampo speaks about undergoing surgery because of thyroid problem
MILES OCAMPO – The actress disclosed that she underwent surgery due to a thyroid issue.
During her guest appearance on “Magandang Buhay” on Thursday, she revealed that she went through a surgery. She even showed the scar on her neck which she gained from the operation.
Ocampo shared that she had been experiencing symptoms of her thyroid condition since late last year, feeling constantly fatigued and having a sensation of being choked. She also experienced sudden chills or hot flashes. After undergoing a blood test, she was informed that her thyroid was the cause of her health issues.
Based on the results of an ultrasound and biopsy, Ocampo was given two options: to have the surgery within three months or as soon as possible. Despite having commitments, such as a scheduled guest appearance on the show “ASAP,” Ocampo decided to prioritize her health and opted to undergo the operation immediately, even canceling her appearance last minute. Looking back, she expressed satisfaction with her decision, noting that the condition could have worsened if left untreated.
Miles Ocampo also shared that she will be undergoing one final procedure, after which she will require lifelong maintenance for her thyroid condition. In February, Ocampo received praise for her performance in the pilot episode of the TV series “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo.” The show airs regularly on various channels and online platforms.
Meanwhile, Miles, whose real name is Camille Tan Hojilla is an actress, model, writer, and singer. Her showbiz career started when she became part of the kiddie gag show Goin’ Bulilit.
She rose to fame for playing the role of Camille Sarmiento in youth-oriented comedy Luv U from February 2012 to January 2016 and Gigi in Sitcom Home Sweetie Home in January 2014. She also starred in primetime series such as Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw as Precious in 2013, And I Love You So as Joanna in 2015–2016, and Sana Dalawa ang Puso as Tinay in 2018.
