Manny Villar holds onto top spot as Philippines’ richest in Forbes 2023 ranking
MANNY VILLAR – The former Senate president and real estate mogul, remains the wealthiest individual in the Philippines with a net worth of $8.6 billion or approximately P467 billion in 2023 according to Forbes’ 37th annual ranking of the world’s richest people.
Villar has climbed to the 232nd spot on Forbes’ global list of billionaires, which is over 100 places higher than his ranking of 352nd in 2021. Enrique Razon, ports magnate, follows Villar in the Philippines’ list with an estimated net worth of $7.3 billion or around P397 billion, ranking at 312 on Forbes’ global list.
Ramon Ang, CEO and president of San Miguel Corp., ranks third in the Philippines and 852nd worldwide, with an estimated net worth of $3.4 billion or at least P184 billion. The heirs of the late mall tycoon Henry Sy Jr. and fast food tycoon Andrew Tan follow closely with a net worth of $2.5 billion each, jointly ranking at 1,217 on Forbes’ list.
Other billionaires from the Sy family and tycoon Lucio Tan share the 1,272nd place, with a net worth of $2.4 billion each. Harley Sy and Teresita Sy-Coson, with a net worth of $2.2 billion each, take the 1,368th place, while Elizabeth Sy ranks at 1,575th place with a net worth of $1.9 billion.
Cebu Pacific CEO Lance Gokongwei takes the 2,020th place with a net worth of $1.4 billion. Tony Tan Caktiong, founder and chairman of Jollibee Foods, ranks at 1,299th place with a net worth of $1.2 billion, and Inigo Zobel, chairman of Top Frontier Investment Holdings, Inc., takes the 2,540th place with a net worth of $1 billion.
