Jopay Paguia on Mayonnaise’s “Jopay” song: “Napaka-wholesome ng song for me, catchy siya”
JOPAY PAGUIA – The former dancer spoke about OPM band Mayonnaise composing the hit song “Jopay” for her.
It was last month when Jopay finally got to meet the OPM band during a concert in Lucena, Quezon Province. The concert was held as part of Mayonnaise’s 20th-anniversary tour at that time.
Jopay appeared on Tuesday’s episode of “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” where she recalled the moment when she finally met the OPM band who wrote the song “Jopay” back in 2003.
To recall, Mayonnaise vocalist Monty Macalinao revealed in an episode of “Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho” that he wrote the song after watching Jopay in the Lenten special of “Eat Bulaga!” and thought of writing a song for her.

Jopay was also asked how she feels about having a song written for her.
“Kinikilig ako,” she admitted. “Napaka-wholesome ng song for me, catchy siya. Yung line na ‘hindi tayo mag-aaway,’ pwede mo siya sabihin sa may mga karelasyon na, ‘ahh, sana all’.“
The OPM band released the hit song in 2005, but it recently went viral on TikTok after Kosang Marlon posted an out-of-tune version of the song on the platform.
Jopay and her husband Joshua Zamora tied the knot in June 6, 2014 and celebrated their 8th wedding anniversary last June 2022. The couple are blessed with two daughters – Isabelle Alessa and Izabella Ariana.
