Ellen Adarna: “I’m not doing it for the money. The reason why I choose to take a break is for my family.”
ELLEN ADARNA – The actress recently opened up about her showbiz career and also spoke about her pregnancy plans.
The actress is the new celebrity endorser of Shinagawa Diagnostic and Preventive Care Center. She shared during the grand opening in BGC, Taguig City that she accepted being a brand ambassador due to her own experience getting “lasik surgery”.
Ellen also revealed that she and her husband, actor Derek Ramsay, are taking a break from acting for the next couple of years.
The actress said that acting requires energy and a lot of time away from her family and it’s her choice to take a break. Aside from this, she revealed that she’s planning to get pregnant and give birth this year.
“Wala, ayoko mag-taping, ayoko mag-soap. Alam naman natin that that requires energy and a lot of time away from family. So it is my choice to take a break,” Ellen said. “Kasi magpaplano din ako mag-anak this year, trying to get pregnant hopefully.”
She added that she wants to be there for her children’s “formative years”, which she described it as “most crucial times”.

The actress shared that she wants to have a baby girl since both of them have sons. She also shared why she understands her husband’s reason to go on a break in showbiz as well.
According to her, her husband has been working so long in the showbiz industry, adding that Derek is 47 years old and it seems like he can rest and enjoy.
“I’m not doing it for the money. The reason why I choose to take a break is for my family,” she said.
Meanwhile, the Shinagawa celebrity endorser said that she loves spending time with her husband Derek and her son Elias. She even described her current family life as “very peaceful and balanced”.
Elias is Ellen’s son with her former partner John Lloyd Cruz.
